X-energy and Talen Energy announced an agreement to evaluate gigawatt-scale deployment of X-energy’s Xe-100 small modular reactor, signalling a major step toward commercial-scale advanced nuclear power in the United States. This follows X-energy’s partnership with Japan’s IHI Corporation to build SMR supply chains, and GE Vernova–Hitachi’s new MoU to deploy the BWRX-300 across Southeast Asia.
