A few months ago, I launched OnaDirect with a simple idea:
Make charitable giving more transparent by connecting donors directly with specific needs in schools and communities along Kenya’s coast.
The name comes from the Swahili word “Ona”, which means “see”.
Too often, people donate without ever seeing the impact of their contribution. With OnaDirect, donors can see exactly what their money funds and the difference it makes.
Thanks to the generosity of our early supporters, we’ve already raised over £500.
One of our first projects provided netball bibs and training equipment to this school in Ukunda, Kenya.
It might seem like a small thing, but small donations can create hours of fun, teamwork, confidence and opportunity for dozens of children.
This photo is exactly why I started OnaDirect: to help donors see the impact of their generosity and show that even modest donations can make a real difference.
And we’re just getting started.
